Putting My Creations on Paper

What feels like a whole lifetime ago, I wrote a short series about a young witch finding her way and fighting a curse. There was magic, mystery, love, and a whole lot of other details thrown into the story. It was a creation I thought up when I was only in high school. As I grew, the story became more mature. Once I finally wrote it and released it (self-published through Amazon) I was very proud of my work. It was everything I wanted it to be, and I sold a lot more of the novel than I expected. This action fired up my dreams to be an author. It also showed me it is possible even without a big-name publisher behind me. All it takes is hard work and some support from the right people.

Well, now that I’m back to writing this blog, I have felt the spark to create fire up again. Not only am I working to sell my artwork through this site. I am also feeling the drive to put words to paper again. Or rather, words to a computer screen, I suppose. I want to share all the work I’m spending time with as my drive to create come alive again. I want to get all the stories trapped in my head out to the world. I have a collection of cute, short stories based upon a magical cat. I want to turn the witch story I mentioned earlier into a light novel with pictures or maybe a comic book. There is so much I want to do. Simply getting started is the hard part.

In order to get things going, I want to create a to-do list. I have tried to do this before, but it usually flops because I’m excellent at ignoring things. Although, I could probably use my Cricut Maker and create a fun way to make me want to use a list. Oh, there’s so much in my head!

Now that my husband is back to work (he’s a professor at a small college) I feel it is also time for me to buckle down. I want to create a great story again. The joy I feel simply writing up this blog post reminds of the joy behind creating a whole story. If I were to be honest, I actually have a very simple outline already written up. There’s no reason not to bring the cat’s story to life. Not to mention it should be relatively simple to reread my old witch story and create the comic I want to pull from that story. All I have to do is practice drawing some characters that will be a challenge to create in that story. I welcome these challenges!

I have already brought forward many tasks to put on my to-do list! I suppose I need to publish this post and get to work! Follow me here or any of my social media pages to stay up to date with all these creations. I’m excited to bring these stories to life.
